Clovis and I returned to Yale for the the start of the Fall Semester 1956. We moved into a Quonset Hut on property that had been a polo field, located adjacent to the sports stadium. The dozens of Quonset Huts arranged in rows were provided as married student housing.

(Excerpt from “joy of marriage goes here.)
(More Quonset hut pictures from the CDs go here).
After Mary Elizabeth was born, we remained in the Quonset hut for a few months, then moved briefly into a house in New Haven. I can remember cooking dinner there, but that’s about all. I don’t know if I even have any pictures, so this house is not included in its own chapter.
After we left New Haven, we moved to Henry Street, in Brooklyn Heights.
