2010 Brown Building

On Eighth Street was an office building that had been set up by the family of Lyndon Baines Johnson. They had completely renovated the building to convert the office space into condos, but they kept the exterior as well as the elevators. There were eight floors, and each floor was a separate apartment. The office building had had tiled bathrooms that were converted to residential bathrooms, keeping the tile floors of the original building.

The rest of the apartment had a bedroom and a large open kitchen, that spanned the whole width of the apartment. The living and dining area along with the kitchen was all one big open space. The kitchen was just a long bar, with an stovetop on the surface of the counter and an oven below. It had a dishwasher and sink, just as an ordinary kitchen but with an open bar island facing the dining area. It was great – a very good kitchen. It was not very different from the kitchen at 29th Street.
