We left Henry Street and moved to 2 Water Lane at the time Ben was born, because we realized we needed to have a larger place to live.
Clovis had a job in Manhattan and he needed to be able to take the commuter train to work. Here is a picture of Clovis in his office in New York.
Living in the 2 Water Lane house was like living in a doll house. You went up the stairs and that was it. There was a corridor that went to the bathroom, the children’s room, and our room. You couldn’t go very far.
Ben coming home from the hospital. Mary Elizabeth and Catherine waiting, then looking at Ben in the bassinette.
Ben was baptized by Father O’Brien at St. Mary’s in Manhasset Jane and John Cross were the godparents.
Clovis’s parents standing, looking over Manhasset Bay, looking at the house that was an old mill, in the snow.
Clovis’s parents came to visit from San Antonio, Texas. They would have taken the train to New York, and then continued on Long Island Railroad commuter train to Manhasset.
Lots of snow pictures at 2 Water Lane.
The 2 Water Lane house had a very large back yard with a grass path through the garden. The flower borders are edged with railroad ties. The clay pots are probably the ones we brought back from San Antonio.
