Note: the story of how we found the Macdaniel House should go here.
We shared the house with Cubby and Kendall initially, then the Macdaniels remained and we bought the Zapalac farm.
Macdaniel House at the time the Heimsath and Macdaniel bought it in 1971
When we bought the house, we hired Alvin Minarcik, Sr. to put on a new roof and make repairs to the house.
Clovis sitting on the porch swing hanging from the live oak in front of the Macdanial House.
Anne Macdaniel swinging from the tree in back of the house near the pond.
Just for fun, Clovis brought all his paintings outside and we posed around them.
Our family in front of Clovis’s paintings. Clovis wanted us to look grouchy. The doll I am holding is representing Virginia who was probably taking a nap.
Macdaniel House – screen porch – You can see the door to the kitchen on the right and the door to the dining room on the left, and then over to the left next to the screen you see the stairs and the door to the back staircase that led up to the little bedrooms under the eaves
We enjoyed sharing the house with the Macdaniels, but there were so many of us, it was a little bit crowded. We decided we could no longer share the house, we had to get a place of our own. Clovis decided he would go out one morning and find a farm, and he did. But that is the next chapter.
